Flights

Domestic Flights to George

The closest airport to Little Brak is George Airport and we can make arrangments to pick you up there when-ever you arrive. To get to George Airport you have to fly through one of the International airports in South Africa, with Johannesburg and Cape Town being the most convenient choices.

The most important thing, if flying International, is that your International flight arrives in time for you to get a connecting flight to George the same day. Before leaving pay special attention to the baggage allowance for the SA domestic flights, it is possible that they might not have the same luggage allowance. I believe Kulula(Comair) has a 20kg limit per bag, while SA Express has a 23Kg limit.

The two airlines that fly to George are:

Kulula airlines (Owned by Comair) There are about 3 flights a day from Johannesburg on a Boeing 737.

SA Express (Owned by South African Airlines) There are about 5 flights a day from Cape Town and 3 from Johannesburg. SA Express planes can be found here. I believe they use the Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft for the Cape Town flight.

Mango airlines New discount airline is now travelling the JNB to George route as well.

From London to SA

British Airways(BA), Virgin and South African Airways(SAA) are your optioins for flying direct to SA. Kayak and Orbitz are good places to search for a price, you can then book through them or contact the airline direct.

I think Virgin and BA are the only airlines that fly direct from Heathrow to Cape Town.

There are cheaper options available if you stop over on the continent, but make sure your flight arrives in time to get a flight to George. Some arlines have an arrangement with the domestic airlines and can book you all the way, but you can book the flights seperatly... this is what we ended up doing to do with my flight.

From USA to SA

South African Airways(SAA) and Delta are the only options for flying direct to South Africa. Most of the other good options fly via an airport in Europe.

I have often used Carmella at Premier Tours to book flights. They are a discount agency, know their stuff for SA flights and are as cheap as booking online. - Email Address: carmellam@premiertours.com - Website: http://www.premiertours.com/
